Federico Xavier Azcárate Ochoa (born 15 June 1984) is an Argentine footballer who plays for CD Leganés in Spain, as a central defender.
Born in Balcarce, Buenos Aires, Azcárate moved as a youngster to Spain, first representing lowly FC Cartagena. In 2003, he joined newly promoted La Liga side Real Murcia, but would only appear in nine matches in two seasons combined, the second spent in the second division.
From 2005–07, he represented Atlético de Madrid, but would never make it past its B team, which competed in the third level.
After spending an unassuming season in Greece, with AEK Athens FC, Azcárate returned to Spain, joining division three outfit Polideportivo Ejido.[1] In 2010, after two seasons in Andalusia, he switched to another team in the category, CD Leganés.
